Director of Pharmacy

About the role

The Director of Pharmacy will lead all pharmacy operations at American Hospital Dubai, ensuring safe and effective medication use while managing staff, budget, and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain drug-use control systems in line with laws, regulations, and pharmaceutical care standards.
• Oversee implementation of Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA) standards for the pharmacy.
• Develop, implement, and regularly review departmental policies, procedures, and budgets.
• Supervise staffing schedules, recruitment, and performance evaluations.
• Collaborate with medical and nursing staff on drug-use criteria, therapeutic committees, and quality improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or equivalent with required licensure.
• Minimum five years of supervisory experience in a hospital pharmacy setting.
• Fluent written and spoken English and Arabic.
• Strong knowledge of UAE pharmaceutical laws and regulations.
