Director of Retail Compliance

About the role

The Director of Retail Compliance will lead the compliance function for Majid Al Futtaim Retail, reporting functionally to the Holding Compliance department and administratively to the Retail CEO. You will be responsible for building a robust compliance framework, overseeing investigations, and ensuring adherence to code of conduct, human‑rights, and regulatory requirements across the retail portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain a proactive compliance framework aligned with regional regulations and company policies.
• Coordinate with the investigations team to manage internal and regulator‑led investigations, and define corrective actions.
• Provide strategic advice to senior leadership on emerging compliance risks and regulatory changes.
• Oversee compliance training, awareness programmes and reporting for all retail operations.
• Collaborate with Legal, HR, Risk and Security functions to ensure a unified governance approach.
• Support the VP Compliance in preparing reports and dashboards for regulators, auditors and executive committees.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting, law or equivalent experience.
• Professional certifications such as CCEP‑I or Certified Fraud Examiner.
• Minimum 12 years of compliance experience, preferably in the Middle East or North Africa.
• Demonstrated expertise in fraud risk management and technical investigations.
