Director of Student Life

About the role

The Director of Student Life leads all aspects of student welfare, engagement, and development at Ajman University. Reporting to senior management, the role ensures that students receive comprehensive support, from accommodation advice to co‑curricular programming, while aligning initiatives with the university’s mission and strategic goals.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for student life, student engagement, athletics, and leadership programs.
• Develop, implement, and assess policies, procedures, and initiatives that support student well‑being and campus culture.
• Digitize student life processes, including council elections, club formation, and event approvals.
• Supervise and mentor student life staff, overseeing professional development and performance.
• Manage budgets, legal agreements, and resource allocation for student activities, athletics, and leadership programs.
• Collaborate with academic and administrative units to ensure integrated student services.
• Design and evaluate leadership development programs, workshops, and seminars for students.
• Represent the university in external meetings related to student life and athletics.

Required profile

• UAE national with at least 10 years of experience in student affairs or related fields.
• Proven leadership and administrative experience in higher‑education environments.
• Strong understanding of student development theory and co‑curricular program design.
• Excellent communication skills in both Arabic and English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office and related computer software.
