Director, Strategy, Transformation & Performance

About the role

The Director, Strategy, Transformation & Performance will lead the strategy, transformation and performance agenda for an Abu Dhabi government entity, shaping enterprise strategy, steering strategic initiatives and overseeing performance measurement.

Key responsibilities

• Formulate, refresh and cascade enterprise strategy, translating government priorities into objectives, plans and initiatives.
• Advise senior leadership on strategic priorities, complex decisions and urgent requests.
• Lead strategic studies, benchmarking and policy or regulatory assessments.
• Translate strategy into a portfolio of initiatives and roadmaps, establishing governance, decision rights and benefits tracking.
• Deliver strategic and cross‑functional initiatives, managing dependencies, risks and escalations.
• Direct the performance management framework, reporting KPIs and results to government.
• Set the approach for process excellence, sponsor excellence assessments and drive continuous improvement.
• Lead and develop the department, building alignment with internal and government stakeholders.

Required profile

• 15+ years of experience in enterprise strategy, transformation, PMO, governance, performance management or public‑sector advisory.
• Proven experience advising C‑suite and translating strategy into governed initiatives with measurable outcomes.
• Experience in portfolio governance, performance management or operational‑excellence programmes.
• Background in government, semi‑government, real estate or regulated sectors; GCC experience is an advantage.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, engineering, public policy, management or related field; postgraduate qualification preferred.
• Fluency in English required; Arabic strongly preferred.
