E-Learning Officer

About the role

The American University in the Emirates is looking for a motivated E‑Learning Officer to manage and enhance its digital learning environment. Working closely with faculty, students, and the IT team, you will ensure the Learning Management System and related tools support effective online, blended, and technology‑enhanced teaching.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and provide first‑line support for the university’s LMS and associated platforms.
• Assist faculty in creating, uploading, and managing course content for online and blended delivery.
• Deliver training workshops, orientation sessions, and develop user guides for LMS usage.
• Monitor system performance, generate usage analytics, and coordinate technical issue resolution with the IT department.
• Support the design and development of digital instructional materials and innovative teaching technologies.
• Ensure compliance with institutional policies, accreditation standards, and accessibility guidelines.
• Assist with online examinations and assessment tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, IT, Computer Science, Education or a related field.
• 2‑5 years of experience in e‑learning, LMS administration, or educational technology support, preferably in higher education.
• Strong communication and training abilities, with a collaborative approach to working with academic and administrative stakeholders.

Required skills

• Experience with LMS platforms such as Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas or similar.
• Proficiency in educational software, virtual classroom tools, and digital collaboration applications.
• Technical troubleshooting and user support expertise.
• Knowledge of instructional design principles and accessibility standards.
