About the role
The British International School Abu Dhabi is looking for a Student Support Assistant to join its EAL team. Working under the EAL Coordinator and Head of Inclusion, the assistant will help pupils whose first language is not English to make progress academically and socially.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to EAL learners.
- Adapt teaching resources and strategies to meet individual needs.
- Monitor pupil progress and keep accurate records.
- Contribute to the development and review of Individual EAL Plans.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and staff.
- Participate in team meetings and school‑wide initiatives.
Required profile
- Fluent English speaker.
- Additional language proficiency is an advantage.
- Ability to work collaboratively under guidance.
- Commitment to supporting the wellbeing and independence of learners.
