Echocardiographer

About the role

The Echocardiographer works closely with the cardiology team to perform comprehensive echocardiographic examinations and related cardiovascular tests in a hospital setting. The role ensures accurate imaging, patient safety, and timely delivery of diagnostic information to physicians.

Key responsibilities

• Perform transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms, as well as exercise tolerance tests, Holter monitoring, and stress ECGs.
• Obtain patient history, explain procedures, and address concerns while following pre‑screening policies.
• Select appropriate imaging techniques, position patients, and operate imaging devices safely.
• Assess image quality, determine need for additional studies, and provide data to physicians for interpretation.
• Calibrate and maintain equipment, troubleshoot malfunctions, and document any issues.
• Monitor patients during procedures, report changes in status, and respond to emergencies according to OSH and infection‑control protocols.

Required profile

• Valid DOH/DHA license or DOH pass result for Echocardiographer in Abu Dhabi.
• Bachelor's degree or diploma in cardiac echocardiography.
• Minimum 3‑4 years of echocardiography experience in a hospital environment.
• Fluent in spoken and written English; Arabic is a plus.
• Current Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certifications.
