EEG Technician

About the role

The EEG Technician will join the neurodiagnostic team at a leading healthcare provider in Abu Dhabi, delivering high‑quality electroencephalography (EEG) and nerve‑muscle studies. The role involves preparing patients, operating specialised equipment, and ensuring accurate recordings for diagnostic purposes.

Key responsibilities

• Enter and maintain patient data in the Hospital Information System (Insta).
• Prepare patients and acquire high‑quality EEG and nerve‑muscle tracings while detecting and eliminating artefacts.
• Perform specialised EEG techniques such as photic stimulation, hyperventilation, adult and paediatric montages, long‑term video EEG electrode placement, ICU recordings, and video EEG video pruning.
• Conduct nerve conduction studies (NCS) including repetitive nerve stimulation, comparative nerve studies, and special tests like Blink Reflex.
• Assist with evoked potentials and intra‑operative peripheral or brain‑surface recordings.
• Clean, maintain, and store EEG/EMG equipment and consumables, ensuring proper stock of paper, electrodes, paste, jelly, and EMG needles.
• Keep a log‑book of all EEG and EMG procedures and coordinate with colleagues for smooth lab operation and emergency coverage.

Required profile

• Proven experience with EEG and NCS procedures in a clinical setting.
• Strong knowledge of EEG montages, artefact management, and specialised stimulation techniques.
• Ability to maintain equipment, perform minor adjustments, and manage consumable inventory.
• Attention to detail in record‑keeping and adherence to safety and hygiene standards.
