EHS Engineer – Health, Safety & Environment

About the role

The EHS Engineer will be responsible for implementing and managing health, safety and environmental (HSE) measures on a project site. This role ensures that all safety procedures, equipment and training are in place to protect workers and comply with project requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Implement project‑specific EHS plans and HSMPs at the site.
• Arrange personal protective equipment (PPE) according to project needs.
• Inspect materials, equipment and systems supplied by subcontractors and intervene when necessary.
• Deliver initial EHS orientation and ongoing training programs, including toolbox talks, for all site personnel.
• Coordinate third‑party training for critical roles such as riggers, lifting supervisors and bar‑being operators.
• Conduct mock drills, such as fire drills, and ensure fire extinguishers and emergency sirens are procured, inspected and maintained.
• Order, install and maintain safety signage throughout the site.
• Perform weekly site walks with personnel to monitor safety conditions.
• Complete periodic health & safety audits and workplace inspections, addressing non‑conformities promptly.
• Carry out regular risk assessments and propose mitigation plans.
