Electrical BOP & Grid Expert

About the role

We are seeking an Electrical BOP & Grid Expert to act as the technical advisor for electrical balance‑of‑plant and grid integration scopes during developer bid reviews and RFP/specification preparation. The role leads technical due diligence, ensures compliance with project and off‑taker requirements, identifies risks, prepares clarifications, and supports contract scheduling and negotiation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical advice on BOP and grid connection aspects for bid reviews and RFPs.
• Lead technical due‑diligence activities, verify compliance with grid codes and off‑taker specifications.
• Identify deviations and risks, prepare clarification notes, and support technical evaluation.
• Contribute to contract schedules, negotiation support, and commercial/contract awareness.
• Review and comment on IPP/PPA/EPC technical schedules, guarantees, performance clauses, and acceptance testing requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or related engineering discipline.
• Professional registration, chartership, or OEM/utility/off‑taker experience preferred.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in power‑plant electrical systems, HV grid connection, protection/control, and grid‑code compliance.
• Experience as an owner’s engineer, utility reviewer, or similar role.
• Strong commercial and contract awareness.

Required skills

• IEC 60255, IEC 61850, IEC 60909, IEC 60076, IEC 62271, IEC grounding standards.
• Local Grid Code, grid‑code compliance, protection and control.
• HV GIS, AIS, MV/LV switchgear, IPB, GSUT/UAT, black‑start and emergency supply.
• Generator, auxiliary power, metering, earthing, lightning protection.
• Power system studies using ETAP, DIgSILENT, PSCAD.
