Electrical Design Engineer - Commercial & Institutional

About the role

Eaton, a power management company, is hiring an Electrical Design Engineer in Dubai for its Commercial & Institutional Buildings segment. The engineer develops standard reference designs that combine Low Voltage, Medium Voltage, UPS, Energy Storage and Life Safety systems into a complete Eaton offering tailored to building types and applications, turning customer needs into scalable, integrated solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Work with the segment strategy and offer leader to map target sub-segments such as healthcare, education, retail and mixed-use.
• Drive process optimization and continuous improvement to improve manufacturability, quality and operational performance.
• Translate product design requirements into manufacturable solutions aligned with the R&D team.
• Create reference designs and application libraries against an agreed roadmap, and deliver reference designs and sales tools to help sales increase share of wallet.
• Work with BU Product Managers and applications engineers to define application needs and the best technical solution.
• Produce detailed, visual tools (design guides, CAD files, technical specifications) with the Marcom team, and support related content such as web pages and campaign assets.
• Support a Consultant Program and engage specification sales teams with consultants through webinars, joint meetings and a community of practice.
• Refine the reference design framework based on feedback from sales, marketing, consultants and designers, and define new tools to showcase capabilities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Power or IT engineering or a similar field.
• At least 5 years of experience in the Commercial & Institutional Buildings segment in a technical role with customer interaction.
• Solid knowledge of energy/power distribution products and solutions, including IEC and other applicable electrical codes and standards.
• Good knowledge of MS Office and CRM applications.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication and project management skills, with initiative and a digital mindset.

Required skills

• Proficiency in electrical design software.
• Software skills such as SCADA.
• 3D modeling software is a plus.
