Electrical Draughtsman (EPLAN)

About the role

Emirates Electrical Engineering, part of the Al Rostamani Group, is looking for a Draughtsman (EPLAN/ELCAD) in Dubai. The role prepares accurate electrical schematics, panel layouts and technical documentation using EPLAN/ELCAD, supporting engineering and project teams by turning design concepts into detailed drawings that meet industry standards and project needs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop GA, layout and assembly drawings for control and protection panels, including cubicles and sub-assemblies.
• Prepare fabrication drawings for sheet metal components, mounting plates, sub-panels and busbar systems with dimensions, tolerances and notes.
• Create electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, termination drawings and panel layouts in EPLAN.
• Maintain device tags, cable schedules, terminal diagrams and Bills of Materials (BOM).
• Ensure drawings comply with company standards, client specifications and codes such as IEC and NFPA.
• Update drawings with engineering changes and site feedback, keeping version control.
• Collaborate with design engineers, project managers and production teams, and take part in design reviews.
• Optimize panel layouts for accessibility, maintainability and thermal performance.
• Maintain drawing registers, document control, CAD libraries and project files.
• Support workshop and site teams during manufacturing, installation and commissioning.

Required profile

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent (e.g. City & Guilds, HNC/HND); equivalent proven experience will be considered.
• Minimum 2-3 years as a draughtsman in control panels, switchgear, enclosure fabrication or a related heavy electrical manufacturing environment.

Required skills

• Expert use of 2D/3D CAD software; proficiency in AutoCAD/EPLAN/ELCAD is essential.
• Strong experience in detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings.
• Good understanding of GD&T.
• Familiarity with control panel construction, sheet metal fabrication and standard electrical enclosures.
