Electrical Engineer III – 6‑Month Temporary Contract

About the role

Enerflex Ltd is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer III on a six‑month fixed‑term contract to deliver high‑quality engineering solutions for oil & gas, refinery, power and desalination projects. You will ensure deliverables meet international, organisational and customer standards while collaborating closely with clients and internal disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Review and finalize project scope and required deliverables.
• Prepare engineering philosophy, specifications, and detailed design documents.
• Plan and schedule electrical engineering activities and respond to technical queries.
• Coordinate with process, mechanical, instrumentation, civil, structural and piping teams.
• Produce and review specifications, datasheets, material requisitions, load lists, calculations, system studies, single‑line diagrams, schematics and cable schedules.
• Participate in SAFOP and design reviews, and conduct site visits for verification.
• Ensure compliance with Enerflex HR, Quality, HSE policies and all relevant standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical (or equivalent technical training).
• 8+ years of electrical engineering experience in oil & gas, refinery, power, desalination or petrochemical plants.
• Proven ability to perform engineering calculations, cable, generator and substation equipment sizing.
• Experience in pre‑commissioning, testing and commissioning of on‑shore and offshore electrical equipment.
• Strong knowledge of IEEE, IEC, DEP, API‑505, API‑540, NFPA and BS codes.
• Currently pursuing a graduate certification in renewable energy.

Required skills

• Power system study using ETAP/EDSA software.
• Engineering calculations and cable sizing.
• Generator and substation equipment sizing.
• Pre‑commissioning, testing and commissioning procedures.
• Familiarity with IEEE, IEC, DEP, API‑505, API‑540, NFPA and BS standards.
• Renewable energy concepts (certification in progress).
