Electrical Inspector (OHL / Utilities) - 3 Month Contract

About the role

A global project supervision consultancy client needs several experienced Consultant Electrical Inspectors to join its team in Abu Dhabi, working on high voltage / OHL / dry utilities works across the Emirate. The position is an initial 3-month fixed-term contract as an outsourced employee through J10 Consulting, available for immediate joining. Candidates must have a proven background as a Consultant Electrical Inspector on similar projects in the UAE, and only those with a track record with recognised supervision consultants or PMC companies will be considered; TAQA approval for OHL projects is highly advantageous.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to inspection requests (IRs) submitted by the contractor and take appropriate action in a timely manner.
• Review shop drawings against contract drawings and specifications, local codes, statutory requirements and international best practice.
• Report works not in line with approved drawings and specifications to stakeholders for action.
• Monitor quality of works and assess site safety, including health and environmental issues, in line with contractual, QCS specifications and safety and health risk assessments.
• Maintain daily site records such as progress photos, available for inspection when required.
• Prepare surveillance reports on work deficiencies and non-conformance reports (NCR) as events develop.
• Ensure coordination between discipline-related works and other disciplines, and provide technical input to resolve on-site issues.

Required profile

• Engineering degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• 5-7+ years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years in a recognised supervision consultant or PMC company.
• Prior inspection experience on OHL, utilities and infrastructure projects is mandatory; TAQA approval is highly advantageous.
• Good written and oral communication, organisational and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with project personnel and management.
