Electrical & Instrumentation Technician

About the role

The Electrical & Instrumentation Technician is responsible for maintaining the reliability and availability of all electrical equipment in a large industrial plant. The role involves preventive, corrective and troubleshooting activities on both low‑voltage and high‑voltage systems.

Key responsibilities

• Isolate and energise LV and HV motors, UPS, transformers, generators and related circuits in accordance with company certification procedures.
• Perform skilled fault finding, diagnosis and troubleshooting of high‑ and low‑voltage equipment.
• Carry out routine, predictive and preventive maintenance checks, including visual inspections, to keep equipment operating efficiently.
• Execute new installations, modifications and testing of electrical equipment as per plans and supervisor instructions.
• Identify spare‑part and tool requirements, complete isolation confirmation certificates and maintenance activity sheets.
• Update drawings, records and system documentation, and provide input for method statements and near‑miss reports.

Required profile

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering or secondary school certificate with a relevant vocational trade certificate.
• Minimum 4 years of experience maintaining electrical equipment in a large industrial plant, preferably in the oil and gas sector.
• Ability to work safely with LV/HV systems and follow company authorization procedures.
