Electrician - Oil & Gas Projects

About the role

Ghobash Group, through its member Emirates Electrical & Instrumentation Company LLC, is looking for an electrician for oil and gas projects in Abu Dhabi. The company has worked onshore and offshore for almost 20 years, serving ADNOC and Tier 1 and Tier 2 EPC contractors, and provides full EPC&M services for electrical and instrumentation works.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair electrical wiring, equipment, lighting systems and control panels.
• Perform cable laying, glanding, termination and testing.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams and technical specifications.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.
• Troubleshoot faults in motors, MCC panels, DBs, transformers and related systems.
• Ensure work meets project requirements and safety standards, and conduct insulation resistance, continuity and other electrical tests.
• Assist with commissioning and pre-commissioning, follow permit-to-work procedures and comply with HSE regulations.
• Coordinate with supervisors, engineers and other trades, maintain tools and report daily progress to the supervisor.

Required profile

• ITI or diploma in electrical engineering or a relevant trade certification.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience as an electrician in oil and gas, EPC, refinery, petrochemical or industrial projects.
• Knowledge of industrial electrical systems and equipment, and familiarity with safety procedures and electrical standards.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics.
• Organized, detail-oriented, able to work under pressure and with tight deadlines, and committed to confidentiality.
