Elevator Adjuster

About the role

Otis Elevator Company is seeking an Elevator Adjuster to perform safety checks, testing and adjustments on elevators and escalators at client sites in Dubai. The role involves working under the guidance of senior adjusters to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct safety checks before starting work at client sites.
• Clean, lubricate and test the over‑speed governor and safety action mechanism.
• Check and correct static balancing of units, adjust counterweights and final limits.
• Install door skates, set door locks and verify bolt tightness on each landing.
• Perform unit safety checks by travelling the car top through the shaft, inspecting for interferences.
• Test all electrical functions including car doors, buttons and intercoms.
• Escalate concerns to supervisors and complete non‑conformance reports.
• Set controller contact parameters, adjust acceleration/deceleration and ride quality.
• Inspect motor pits and escalator steps, remove debris and clean as required.
• Test escalators by winding the motor for a full travel cycle to ensure no obstructions.
• Prepare installation inspection reports, field test data, safety check reports and audit documentation.

Required profile

• At least 1 month of relevant experience or willingness to learn on the job.
• Ability to follow detailed procedures and safety guidelines.
• Good mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Willingness to work under supervision of senior adjusters.
