Elevator Maintenance & Modernization Engineer

About the role

Ventures is looking for an Engineer - Maintenance in Dubai to cover the full range of lift and elevator work: technical support, repair and corrective maintenance, modernization and modification projects, and the commercial side of service contracts. The role also includes acting as technical point of contact for customers and facility managers.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support for multibrand elevators and escalators, attend breakdowns and entrapped passengers, and carry out troubleshooting, fault diagnosis and root cause analysis.
• Plan, coordinate and monitor major repairs and corrective maintenance, prepare technical recommendations and material requirements, and verify completed work before returning equipment to service.
• Lead modernization and modification projects: review site conditions and drawings, prepare execution plans, supervise installation, testing, commissioning and handover, and prepare technical reports.
• Act as technical point of contact for customers and facility teams, explain technical issues, handle complaints and give regular updates on breakdowns and projects.
• Build technical capability across different elevator controllers, drives, motors, door operators and safety systems, and identify equivalent replacement solutions for obsolete equipment.
• Prepare breakdown, RCA, repair and modernization reports, maintain records of recurring failures, and support quotations and technical scopes.
• Train and guide technicians and supervisors, develop troubleshooting procedures and checklists, and promote safety and quality.
• Ensure all work follows company HSE procedures, risk assessments, permits and isolation procedures, and supports authority inspections.
• Support the Service Manager with technical inputs for quotations, material estimation, manpower planning and project timelines, and follow up on invoices and annual maintenance contracts.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in software programming and troubleshooting of lift drives and controllers (traction and hydraulic, machine room or machine room less).
• Experience in service contracts, spare parts, repairs, modernization and upgradation projects.

Required skills

• Lift troubleshooting and reading lift skeletal wiring diagrams.
• Lift software programming and programming of CPU units.
• MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; SAP, Xpedeon, Oracle, Farnek, Vendor Cafe portal.
