Ellucian Banner Student Module Support Consultant

About the role

A university is seeking experienced consultants to provide Level 1 and Level 2 functional and technical support for a highly customized Ellucian Banner Student environment. The role covers application stability, data accuracy and operational efficiency, including admissions, student registration, academic records, fee assessment, grading and graduation.

Key responsibilities

• Handle incidents, service requests, ticket logging, prioritization, troubleshooting and resolution within agreed service levels.
• Support Registrar, Admissions, Academic Affairs and Student Finance teams, and investigate and fix application issues.
• Maintain Banner validation tables, rules, parameters and security settings; monitor batch jobs, scheduled processes and workflows.
• Use Oracle SQL and PL/SQL to investigate database issues, correct data, develop reports and troubleshoot problems.
• Support customized forms, Banner 9 Admin Pages, PL/SQL packages, procedures, triggers, views, tables, batch jobs and interfaces, and coordinate L3 support with Ellucian and client teams.
• Review release notes, support patch deployments and upgrades, prepare test scripts, run regression tests and support UAT.
• Develop reports and data extracts, support deployments and production monitoring, and maintain technical documentation and known errors.
• Provide user guidance, training and knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field.
• Relevant experience in Ellucian Banner support, preferably in higher education.
• Strong hands-on experience with the Banner Student module and its database structures, validation tables and security classes.
• Ability to investigate complex issues independently and work with functional users, technical teams and stakeholders.
• Preferred: experience with highly customized Banner environments, Ethos/API integrations, Argos Reporting, UAE regulatory reporting, and Arabic proficiency.
