Engineer Fire Safety

About the role

The Engineer Fire Safety will support the management of fire and life‑safety risks across Abu Dhabi Airport facilities and operations. You will conduct detailed fire safety engineering assessments for existing assets and new developments, ensuring compliance with UAE Civil Defence, NFPA, GCAA and Abu Dhabi EHSMS regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy Abu Dhabi Airports fire, life and safety programmes to obtain and maintain certifications.
• Conduct annual fire safety reviews of all operational buildings and ensure adherence to the Airport Fire Safety Strategy.
• Review fire protection systems, life‑safety provisions and performance‑based fire engineering solutions.
• Provide fire, life and safety architecture design in coordination with design and engineering teams.
• Inspect fire‑stop assemblies, hydrants and firefighting equipment and report any damage for prompt repair.
• Lead technical coordination with UAE Civil Defence, GCAA and local authorities during design reviews, inspections and certification processes.
• Support development of evacuation procedures and fire‑safety strategies for all airport buildings and subsidiaries.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Safety Engineering, Fire Science or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with installation, testing, commissioning, handover and maintenance of fire systems.
• Experience in fire‑safety strategy development and preparation of fire‑engineering reports.
• Knowledge of UAE Civil Defence, NFPA, GCAA and Abu Dhabi EHSMS regulatory frameworks.
• NEBOSH Fire & Safety Risk Management certification preferred.
