Engineer II - Aeromechanical

About the role

EDGE, an advanced technology group focused on defence and emerging technologies, is hiring an Engineer II - Aeromechanical in Abu Dhabi. The role covers the aeromechanical integration of weapon systems onto aircraft platforms, ensuring mechanical compatibility, structural integrity and safe carriage and release. It includes interface definition, loads, vibration, aeroelastic and dynamic analysis, design reviews and ground/flight test support, while ensuring compliance with military standards, airworthiness requirements and safety-critical engineering processes.

Key responsibilities

• Aircraft-weapon aeromechanical integration: carry out activities on mechanical interfaces, carriage and release environments
• Define, assess and verify mechanical interfaces between weapons, suspension equipment and aircraft structures
• Conduct or support structural loads, vibration, aeroelastic and dynamic response analyses
• Support design, integration and readiness reviews with technical inputs and engineering justifications
• Support ground and flight test preparation, instrumentation coordination and data review
• Ensure compliance with military standards, airworthiness requirements and contractual obligations
• Maintain engineering documentation, calculations and reports with full traceability to requirements
• Resolve aeromechanical issues arising during design, integration, test or operation

Required profile

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in defence or aerospace, preferably in aircraft-weapon or airborne system integration
• Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical, Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
• Working knowledge of safety-critical development processes for airborne and weapon systems
• Knowledge of aircraft-weapon integration principles and of test and verification processes for airborne systems

Required skills

• Structural loads, vibration, aeroelasticity and dynamic response
• CAD tools such as Creo or SolidWorks, numerical tools such as MATLAB, and CFD tools
• English proficiency is required
