Engineering Services Supervisor

About the role

Speciality Hospital Dubai is looking for an Engineering Services Supervisor to lead and supervise its maintenance technicians. The role covers daily maintenance supervision, quality and safety oversight, and continuous education, in a hospital setting.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a team of maintenance technicians: assign tasks, monitor performance, provide training on safe work practices and equipment handling, and foster accountability, efficiency and teamwork.
• Supervise daily maintenance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and general repairs; allocate work orders and ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed and recorded.
• Respond quickly to breakdowns and emergencies to minimise downtime.
• Maintain quality and safety: promote continuous quality improvement, follow safety and quality control programmes, support clinical audit processes and report on them.
• Ensure infection prevention and control measures are applied, including hand hygiene, environmental care and waste management.
• Take part in education sessions for staff, doctors and nurses, train new employees, attend department committees and meetings, and keep up to date through seminars and online courses.
• Complete all regulatory requirements, including licensure and certification.
• Follow Occupational Safety and Health Management System requirements: report hazards, incidents and near misses, help prepare risk assessments, attend OSH training and mock drills, use PPE, know emergency and evacuation procedures, and take part in OSHMS audits.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering, or a relevant technical qualification.
• At least 5 years in building or facility maintenance, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role; healthcare experience preferred.
• Required specialist certification: NAD.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Self-motivated and able to work under pressure.
