English Language Teacher (Grades 1-12) - Open to Candidates Outside UAE

About the role

Experts Plus Recruitment Services is hiring an English Language Teacher for a client based in Abu Dhabi, covering grades 1-12. The position is open only to candidates currently living outside the UAE; applicants already in the UAE will not be considered. The teacher implements the English curriculum and works with Arab youth learning English as a second language.

Key responsibilities

• Model and support a learner-centred, hands-on classroom that promotes engagement and participation.
• Ensure students reach the expected age-related outcomes for English.
• Create a positive, active, language-rich learning environment and identify each student's needs.
• Deliver assessments according to the assessment strategy and guidelines, and keep accurate records of student achievement.
• Build positive relationships with colleagues and integrate with colleagues from different cultures.
• Work extra hours for extra-curricular activities and travel as required to events, training and to provide cover away from school.
• Plan effectively, manage workload and maintain a positive image of the English department.
• Gain the confidence and respect of Emirati personnel at all levels.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in English, English language and literature or a related field; minimum 3 years of degree.
• 3+ years of full-time teaching experience in schools for expatriates, or 2+ years if holding an accepted teaching qualification.
• Accepted qualifications: Teaching License, B.Ed, M.Ed, NTS, PGCE, PGDE, H.D.E, H.E.D, DELTA (Level 5), CELTA (Masters level only), TESOL (Masters level only).
• Excellent English proficiency: TOEFL iBT score of 94-109, or IELTS Academic 7.0 or General 7.5, issued within the last 3 years.
