English Teacher (AY26/27)

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic English Teacher to join Al Ain British Academy for the academic year 2026‑27. The successful candidate will deliver the English National Curriculum and GCSE programmes to a diverse student body in Al Ain, UAE, fostering high standards of achievement and a love of learning.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging English lessons in line with the school’s Teaching and Learning Policy.
• Set clear learning objectives, targets and differentiate instruction for SEN, EAL and gifted & talented students.
• Use assessment for learning and performance data to inform planning and track progress.
• Integrate ICT effectively to enhance classroom learning.
• Maintain discipline and uphold the Behaviour for Learning Policy.
• Mark student work, provide constructive feedback and record progress systematically.
• Participate in departmental and whole‑school meetings, contributing to curriculum development.

Required profile

• Secure knowledge of the English National Curriculum and GCSE.
• Proven experience teaching English, preferably to learners for whom English is an additional language.
• Demonstrated ability to raise standards and close learning gaps.
• Leadership experience at any level and strong teamwork skills.
• Understanding and appreciation of the cultural values of the United Arab Emirates.
