Enterprise Services AI Agent Engineer Graduate (Workplace Service)

About the role

ByteDance is hiring a campus-hire AI Application Engineer for its Enterprise Services team, which is building an intelligent enterprise-services platform to support its global growth and operations. The team follows an AI-first approach and works with product, design and cross-regional engineering teams. Graduates are expected to commit to an onboarding date by the end of the year and to state their availability and graduation date in their resume.

Key responsibilities

• Build backend services and the Agent runtime, keeping code clean, readable and maintainable, and improving performance and stability through profiling and tuning.
• Integrate internal enterprise systems into Agents using tools, MCP, CLI and A2A.
• Take part in code reviews and follow the team's coding standards and architectural conventions.
• Write clear, AI-friendly technical documentation and contribute to the team knowledge base.
• Explore embedding AI capabilities into backend services and contribute to AI-driven feature development, evaluation and validation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, AI or a related field.
• Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms and computer systems, with strong coding habits.
• Hands-on experience with distributed systems and microservice architecture.
• Understanding of AI Agent architectural patterns such as reasoning, memory management and multi-agent collaboration.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, and a genuine interest in the Agent engineering ecosystem.

Required skills

• Proficiency in one or more of Golang, Java or Python.
• Preferred: hands-on experience with mainstream Agent frameworks (e.g. LangChain, LangGraph, Claude Agent SDK), prompt engineering, harness engineering, context management and evaluation.
