Estimator - Shipbuilding and Marine Construction

About the role

Golden Offshore Marine Industries LLC, working with Ghantoot Offshore Marine Industries, is hiring a full-time, on-site Estimator in Abu Dhabi. The Estimator prepares accurate cost estimates for shipbuilding, ship repair, refurbishment, conversions, steel construction and marine construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Review project specifications and drawings, quantify materials and labour, and obtain competitive quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Collaborate with engineering, project management and procurement teams to build bid packages and pricing proposals.
• Analyse historical cost data, assess risks and contingencies, and ensure estimates meet company standards and client requirements.
• Support tender submissions, take part in clarification meetings and update estimates as project scope changes.

Required profile

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in engineering, quantity surveying or a related field.
• Experience as an Estimator in marine, offshore, construction or heavy industry is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of shipbuilding, ship repair, steel fabrication or marine construction processes and materials.
• Commitment to safety, quality standards and ethical business practices.

Required skills

• Cost estimation, quantity take-off and budget preparation.
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings, specifications and engineering documents.
• Estimation or project costing software and advanced MS Excel.
• Numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail; negotiation of cost-effective solutions.
