Executive Director, Financial and Investment Research

About the role

First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) is hiring an Executive Director for Financial and Investment Research in Abu Dhabi. The role provides investment research, financial analysis and investment recommendations for the Global Private Bank and its clients, covering equity and fixed income markets. It works within the Product and Services division of the Global Private Bank and helps maintain the bank's investment governance framework.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct macroeconomic, market, sector and company-specific research across equity and fixed income markets, and produce country reports on request.
• Analyse financial statements, earnings reports, valuation metrics and industry trends, and develop investment views and recommendations.
• Identify and communicate emerging investment risks and opportunities, and monitor market developments, economic trends and geopolitical events.
• Prepare research and supporting materials for investment committees and present views and recommendations to relevant forums.
• Produce research reports, investment notes, market commentaries and presentations, and keep research documentation in line with governance requirements.
• Maintain the required CMA/SCA accreditation, ensure research complies with internal policies and regulatory requirements, and support regulatory inspections, audits and information requests.
• Escalate material investment risks, conflicts and governance matters through the appropriate channels.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field, with at least 3 years of experience in financial analysis or related fields.
• Or a diploma qualification with at least 8 years of experience in financial analysis or related fields.
• Alternative path: 3 years of experience plus one of the following: Accredited Financial Analyst, Certified Investment Professional (CIP), Certificate in Quantitative Finance (CQF) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
• The candidate must meet the CMA/SCA qualification, experience, accreditation and ongoing competency requirements for the function and keep all regulatory approvals in force.
