Facade Designer

About the role

Careers International is hiring a Facade Designer in Dubai for a full-time position in the construction sector. The role covers the design and drafting of curtain wall, aluminium cladding, window and door systems, working closely with production, procurement, site and estimation teams.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed shop drawings, fabrication drawings and as-built drawings for curtain walls, aluminium cladding, windows, doors and skylights
• Create 2D and 3D models using AutoCAD and other design software, and develop technical drawings from architectural plans, structural drawings and project specifications
• Coordinate with production, procurement, site and estimation teams, and review architectural and structural drawings to extract the information needed for façade design
• Incorporate consultant and client comments and revise designs accordingly
• Apply knowledge of stick, unitized, structural glazing, ACP cladding and spider glazing systems, and help select materials based on performance, aesthetics and cost
• Ensure designs meet industry standards, safety codes and project requirements, prepare technical submittals and coordinate design approvals
• Maintain version control of design outputs and support the site team during installation and mock-up reviews, resolving design conflicts before construction

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Architecture, Civil Engineering or a related field
• 3-5 years of UAE experience in façade design (aluminium and glass industry)
• Familiarity with façade systems, aluminium profiles and fabrication techniques
• Strong understanding of architectural detailing and construction methods
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings
• Good English communication skills and high accuracy and attention to detail

Required skills

• AutoCAD (mandatory)
• Revit, Rhino or SolidWorks (an advantage)
