Facility Maintenance Engineer

About the role

A retail facility management team in the UAE is looking for a proactive, technically competent Facility Maintenance Engineer. The role covers hands-on maintenance of MEP systems and HVAC equipment, keeping retail facilities running efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Review MEP drawings and technical specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Perform regular site inspections to monitor maintenance activities and quality standards.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC systems, including chiller and DX units.
• Coordinate with AMC contractors so that Preventive Planned Maintenance (PPM) schedules are executed on time.
• Monitor maintenance works and ensure adherence to safety and operational standards.
• Prepare and update basic technical drawings using AutoCAD.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors, maintain records and reports, and ensure compliance with company policies, UAE regulations and health and safety standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 2-4 years of experience in retail facility management within the UAE.
• Experience coordinating with Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) service providers.
• Preferred: knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance procedures and familiarity with UAE facility management standards.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, especially chillers and DX units.
• Ability to interpret MEP drawings and technical specifications.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD for preparing and reviewing basic drawings.
• Analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills; ability to manage several tasks in a fast-paced environment.
