Facility Management Officer

About the role

The Facility Management Officer is responsible for ensuring the operational efficiency, safety and upkeep of all facility assets in Abu Dhabi, including buildings, roads, landscaping, utilities and related infrastructure. The role coordinates maintenance activities, supervises contractors, supports budgeting and reporting, and drives compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections of buildings, roads, offices, landscaping, utilities and furniture using standardized checklists.
• Identify maintenance issues, create work orders and ensure timely corrective actions.
• Supervise internal maintenance teams and external contractors, validating completed work before approval.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain Management for contractor engagement and procurement.
• Assist in preparing and monitoring facility management budgets, track payments and verify invoices.
• Generate periodic reports on budgets, contracts, maintenance activities and operational performance.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards, preparing permits, method statements and risk assessments.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs and cost‑saving initiatives.

Required profile

• Experience in facility or building management, including inspection and maintenance oversight.
• Knowledge of health, safety, environmental and quality management standards.
• Ability to prepare and monitor budgets, track expenditures and support financial reporting.
• Familiarity with contractor management and service contract compliance.
• Proficiency in using SAP for budget tracking and issue resolution.
