Faculty - Business (Real Estate Management)

About the role

Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) in Abu Dhabi is seeking a full-time faculty member for Real Estate Management in its Business faculty. The post involves teaching in a student-centred, second-language learning environment, applied research, student advising, curriculum development and academic service. The minimum workload is 36.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with some Saturday assignments.

Key responsibilities

• Teach courses with a practical, applied approach in at least two areas of the programme, using educational technology and strategies suited to second-language learners, and give continuous feedback
• Evaluate students, update grades, monitor progress and contribute to question banks and assessments
• Prepare electronic Course Assessment Files and Course Assessment Reports, manage at least one system-wide course and take part in course and curriculum revisions
• Advise students, recommend at-risk action plans and mentor students during internships and work placements
• Conduct applied research, participate in conferences and mentor student research
• Serve on committees, sponsor student groups, and help implement HCT's system-wide strategy
• Maintain teaching facilities, support quality assurance and perform other duties assigned by the supervisor
• Coach subordinates, contribute to the recruitment and development of UAE Nationals and promote organisational resilience

Required profile

• A Ph.D. in a relevant discipline, or a Master's degree with a relevant professional certification and 5 years of teaching and industry experience
• A Bachelor's degree may be considered with extensive industry experience and industry certification as required by the discipline
• At least 3 years of teaching experience in the relevant discipline
• Experience developing curricula to accreditation and international standards, and incorporating educational technology
• At least 3 years of relevant industry experience is preferred
