Faculty Member – Mechanical & Mechatronics Engineering

About the role

The Higher Colleges of Technology seeks a full‑time faculty member to deliver high‑quality instruction in Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering. The role involves teaching second‑language learners, contributing to research, and supporting community and industry engagement within a student‑centric environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver curriculum‑aligned courses using practical, applied approaches and educational technology tools.
• Assess student performance through tests, projects, assignments and provide timely feedback.
• Advise and mentor students, including support during internships and at‑risk action planning.
• Conduct applied research aligned with national innovation priorities and present findings at conferences.
• Participate in faculty, program and system‑wide committees, and sponsor student groups and activities.
• Maintain teaching facilities, manage course content, develop assessment materials, and contribute to continuous improvement of teaching quality.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in a relevant discipline, or a Master’s degree with professional certification and at least five years of combined teaching and industry experience.
• Minimum three years of teaching experience in the relevant engineering discipline.
• Relevant industry experience (preferred) and experience developing curricula that meet accreditation standards.
• Proficiency in incorporating educational technology into instruction and assessment.
