Finance & Accounting Lead

About the role

Garage is building a marketplace for specialized vehicles and equipment, starting with emergency vehicles. As the Finance & Accounting Lead, you will shape the company’s early financial operations, ensuring accurate bookkeeping, compliance, and strategic insight as the business scales.

Key responsibilities

• Own the financial foundation, including accurate financial statements, month‑end close, and overall book integrity using QuickBooks Online.
• Manage the full lifecycle of marketplace infrastructure and funds flow.
• Build and implement scalable accounting, reporting, and forecasting systems to support rapid growth.
• Monitor and optimize cash flow, ensuring liquidity across accounts and improving capital efficiency.
• Oversee core finance operations such as AP/AR, payroll, vendor payments, and sales commission calculations.
• Define, track, and report key business metrics (e.g., GMV, take rate, burn, margin).

Required profile

• Desire to influence strategic financial decisions and work directly with founders.
• Comfort operating at the intersection of accounting, operations, and strategy.
• Proactive, resource‑ful, and comfortable making decisions in ambiguous environments.
• High attention to detail and ownership of financial integrity.
• Motivation to build systems from the ground up and grow into broader finance leadership.
