Finance & Accounting Specialist

About the role

A detail-oriented and proactive Finance & Accounting Specialist is sought to support the finance operations of the company and ensure the accuracy, integrity and compliance of financial records. The role covers day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting support and the maintenance of strong financial controls.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting transactions and keep accurate financial records
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals and adjustments
• Perform monthly, quarterly and annual account reconciliations
• Monitor accounts payable and receivable, process supplier payments and follow up on outstanding customer receivables
• Assist in preparing monthly management reports and financial statements
• Support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
• Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies and regulatory requirements
• Assist with VAT preparation, filing and compliance
• Coordinate with auditors during internal and external audits
• Monitor cash flow and support treasury-related functions
• Identify improvements to financial processes and internal controls, and prepare ad-hoc reports as requested by management

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CA, CPA, CMA or equivalent is an advantage
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in finance and accounting roles
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations and accounting principles
• Knowledge of VAT regulations and compliance requirements
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills, and excellent communication and stakeholder management

Required skills

• Experience with ERP systems and accounting software
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Reconciliations, general ledger management, budgeting and forecasting, accounts payable and receivable, internal controls and audit coordination
