Finance & Cost Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a Finance & Cost Accountant to manage day‑to‑day bookkeeping and production accounting for our high‑end jewelry atelier in Abu Dhabi. This hands‑on role works directly with the CEO and the atelier team, ensuring accurate financial records and cost tracking for raw materials, work‑in‑progress, and finished goods.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain daily bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and expense categorisation.
• Perform bank, credit‑card and petty‑cash reconciliations.
• Execute month‑end close activities: accruals, pre‑payments, and preparation of financial statements.
• Prepare VAT filings and supporting schedules in line with UAE FTA requirements.
• Record payroll entries and related reconciliations.
• Track raw‑material inventory, record purchases, value stock and reconcile against physical counts.
• Maintain work‑in‑progress records, monitoring material consumption, labour applied and stage of completion.
• Reconcile monthly production output to inventory movements and ensure correct COGS recording.

Required profile

• 5‑6 years of accounting experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce; professional qualification (CA, CMA, ACCA) is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT and FTA filing requirements.
• Highly organised, detail‑driven and able to own month‑end close independently.
• Discreet handling of confidential financial and client information.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
