Finance Specialist – Accounting and Reconciliations

About the role

Canon EMEA is looking for a Finance Specialist in Dubai to support the day-to-day accounting and finance operations of Canon Middle East. The role covers accurate and timely processing of financial transactions, reconciliations, reporting and payments, as well as financial reporting, compliance, internal controls and regional accounting coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Review and process supplier and customer invoices in line with company policies and procedures.
• Review and validate employee expense claims with supporting documentation.
• Coordinate with suppliers, employees and internal stakeholders to resolve invoice, expense and payment queries.
• Prepare and process supplier payments and employee reimbursements through banking platforms and related systems.
• Support month-end and year-end closing, including preparation of schedules and supporting documentation.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations, including bank, supplier, employee and other balance sheet accounts.
• Assist with management reports and other finance-related analyses.
• Maintain accounting journals and other financial transactions in line with accounting standards and company policies.
• Support statutory, regulatory and audit requirements and the accounting oversight of Representative Offices.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies, and contribute to process improvement and automation initiatives.

Required profile

• Relevant recognized formal qualification (university major in financial accounting) is essential.
• Professional accounting qualifications such as CA, ACCA or CIMA.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in a similar finance role.
• Fluency in written and spoken English; high level of communication skills.
• Able to handle pressure, meet deadlines and work in a multicultural environment.

Required skills

• High-level Excel skills (essential).
• Familiarity with MS Office, email and internet (essential).
• Strong knowledge of accounting concepts.
