Financial Controller

About the role

A growing technology company based in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Financial Controller to own its finance and accounting function across a multi‑entity structure spanning the UAE and the US. This hands‑on position reports to senior leadership and is ideal for an early‑career finance professional with strong technical skills who can run the full function with minimal oversight.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full month‑end and year‑end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals and pre‑payments for all entities.
• Prepare timely management accounts – P&L, balance sheet and cash‑flow reports – for leadership review.
• Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts, ensuring IFRS‑compliant and audit‑ready reporting.
• Manage accounting across UAE and US entities, handling intercompany reconciliations, eliminations and cost allocations.
• Serve as the main contact with external tax advisors on corporate tax, VAT and related filings.
• Coordinate the annual external audit, preparing schedules and responding to auditor queries.
• Oversee bank reconciliations, payroll processing, accounts payable and receivable, and ensure regulatory submissions are accurate and on time.
• Maintain and improve accounting systems and finance workflows for efficiency.

Required profile

• 5‑6 years of accounting or finance experience, with significant time spent working in the UAE.
• Professional accounting qualification in progress or recently completed (CA, ACCA, CMA, CPA or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and UAE accounting, tax regulations, VAT, corporate tax and WPS.
• Hands‑on experience with multi‑entity accounting and intercompany reconciliations.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Fluent written and spoken English; Arabic is a plus.
