Financial Controller

About the role

The Financial Controller will lead group‑wide financial control, cost governance, budgeting, forecasting, financial planning & analysis, commercial finance and management reporting for the Firsttech group. Acting as the primary finance business partner to the CFO and business leaders, the role drives financial discipline, optimises costs and ensures that spending delivers measurable business value.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Lead month‑end and year‑end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, group accounting policies and statutory reporting requirements.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic rolling forecasts across the group.
• Develop financial models, scenario analyses and business cases to support strategic decisions.
• Analyse cost‑centre, department and business‑unit profitability, EBITDA and gross‑margin.
• Review purchase requisitions, approve purchase orders and evaluate Total Cost of Ownership analyses.
• Identify vendor spend consolidation opportunities and monitor procurement compliance.
• Manage credit control, monitor receivables and support dispute resolution.
• Monitor cash flow, working capital and support treasury operations.
• Identify and implement process improvements, strengthen internal controls and support financial system roll‑outs.

Required profile

• Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and FP&A within a multi‑entity environment.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and statutory accounting standards.
• Demonstrated ability to partner with senior business leaders and influence financial decisions.
• Experience in cost control, procurement governance and credit management.
• Excellent analytical skills with a focus on profitability and cash‑flow optimisation.
