Forensic Accountant – Cryptocurrency Investigations (Senior Associate)

About the role

We are seeking a Subject Matter Expert in cryptocurrency to join our highly‑respected forensic accounting, investigations and compliance consultancy. The Senior Associate will work within FRA’s Cryptocurrency practice, applying blockchain forensic analysis to complex financial‑crime cases.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct cryptocurrency and blockchain investigations, using analytics tools to trace funds, detect fraud schemes, asset misappropriation, market manipulation and sanctions evasion.
• Reconcile off‑chain data (e‑mail, exchange records) with on‑chain transaction data to build comprehensive follow‑the‑money narratives.
• Advise cryptocurrency and FinTech clients on AML, KYC, transaction monitoring, suspicious activity reporting, sanctions and anti‑bribery requirements.
• Prepare workpapers, expert reports, memos, visualisations and presentations that translate technical findings into clear insights.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, track progress against work plans and flag potential issues.

Required profile

• Subject Matter Expert in cryptocurrency with a genuine interest in blockchain forensic analysis.
• Solid understanding of fraud and money‑laundering typologies and experience conducting forensic investigations.
• Minimum 36 months of relevant experience in financial‑crime investigations or cryptocurrency compliance.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, able to convey complex technical concepts to clients.
