Fortinet Network Engineer

About the role

Elfonze Technologies, an IT consulting and solutions partner serving mid-market enterprises in the UAE and GCC, is hiring a Fortinet Network Engineer for its Infrastructure & Cybersecurity practice. The role covers hands-on delivery of Fortinet firewall implementation, hardening and ongoing operations, working with the SOC, Cloud and Cybersecurity Sales teams on project-based deployments and managed security engagements.

Key responsibilities

• Design, configure, deploy and maintain Fortinet security infrastructure (FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiSwitch, FortiAP) across client environments.
• Implement firewall policies, IPSec/SSL VPNs, NAT, routing and high-availability configurations.
• Perform hardening, firmware upgrades and patch management.
• Support 24x7 SOC/MSS clients with incident triage, troubleshooting and change implementation.
• Run network security assessments and contribute to client reports and remediation plans.
• Collaborate with SOC and Offensive Security teams on incident response and vulnerability remediation.
• Support pre-sales by scoping Fortinet security designs and contributing to proposals.
• Maintain documentation, configuration standards and runbooks, and align environments with ISO 27001, NIST and PDPL.
• Provide L2/L3 support and escalation handling within SLAs.

Required profile

• 5-6+ years of hands-on network security engineering, focused on Fortinet.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• Experience supporting SOC/MSS operations, incident response and change management under SLAs.
• UAE market experience preferred; existing UAE residency or work eligibility preferred.
• Fluent English; Arabic is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proven experience configuring and managing FortiGate firewalls (HA, VPNs, IPS, AV, Web Filtering, Application Control).
• NSE 4 (minimum); NSE 5-7 strongly preferred.
• Routing, switching, VLANs, NAT and TCP/IP fundamentals.
• Plus: SIEM integration, IAM/PAM, and cloud network security (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Plus: CCNA/CCNP or equivalent.
