Fuels Systems Technician

About the role

The Contractor will perform inspection, maintenance, and repair of water and fuel systems for military ground vehicle fueling infrastructure. The position requires certification on multiple automated fuel handling and leak detection systems and the ability to work in a maintenance shop environment with domestic and international travel.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on Automated Fuel Handling Equipment (AFHE), Automated Tank Gauging (ATG), Independent Alarm Systems (IAS), Electronic Leak Detection (ELD), Overfill Protection Equipment (OPE), Hydrant Fueling Automation Maintenance (HFAM) and Automated Fuel Service Station (AFSS) systems.
• Inspect, maintain, and repair fuel system components, including PLCs, solenoids, flow switches, control valves and associated communication devices (modem and radio).
• Provide technical support, certification, and testing for leak detection systems such as Hansa, Vista, and Varec Leak Manager.
• Document qualifications and certifications for all personnel and submit to the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) as required.

Required profile

• Minimum three (3) years of experience with fuel system equipment and certifications from manufacturers of ATG, ELD, IAS, OPE, HFAM or AFSS.
• High school diploma or equivalent; military or technical training in fuel and/or water systems is preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally and work onsite in a maintenance shop environment.

Required skills

• Certification on Automated Fuel Handling Equipment (AFHE) and Automated Fuel Service Station (AFSS) systems.
• Proficiency with Automated Tank Gauging (ATG) systems such as Veeder‑Root TLS Series (Level 3) and ENRAF 854 Servo.
• Knowledge of Independent Alarm Systems (IAS) and Electronic Leak Detection (ELD) technologies.
• Experience with Hydrant Fueling Automation Maintenance (HFAM), including PLC programming and control device troubleshooting.
• Understanding of DoD hydrant system specifications and ability to translate them verbally and in writing.
