General Accountant

About the role

The General Accountant will be responsible for day‑to‑day accounting operations at our Abu Dhabi office. You will ensure accurate recording of financial transactions, maintain ledgers, and support the preparation of timely financial statements.

Key responsibilities

• Record and post journal entries, manage ledger maintenance and perform bank reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Support budgeting processes and conduct variance analysis.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing.
• Assist internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to queries.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations and internal controls.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to provide financial insights.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or CMA is a plus.
• Strong experience in general accounting, financial reporting and budgeting support.
• Familiarity with FMCG or fast‑paced environments, especially inventory and cost accounting.
• Attention to detail, strong numerical aptitude and effective communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Advanced MS Excel, including spreadsheet modelling.
