General Accountant – Project Cost Control & Job Costing

About the role

XYZ Designers is looking for a General Accountant with strong project cost‑control and job‑costing experience to monitor budgets, analyse profitability and prepare management reports.

Key responsibilities

• Perform project‑wise job costing and profitability analysis.
• Monitor project budgets by comparing actual costs with forecasts.
• Track project man‑hours, staff costs, subcontractor expenses and other direct costs.
• Maintain accurate project accounting records in QuickBooks Online.
• Prepare cost reports, budget‑versus‑actual analyses and management dashboards using Microsoft Excel.
• Handle general accounting functions, reconciliations, month‑end closing and UAE VAT schedules.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in engineering, architectural or consultancy projects.
• Professional qualification such as CA, CPA, ACCA or CMA is an advantage.
• Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Required skills

• Hands‑on proficiency in QuickBooks Online.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for job‑costing analysis.
