About the role
The General Manager will lead all aspects of hotel operations, driving performance, profitability and return on investment while ensuring exceptional guest experiences and strict compliance with brand and contractual standards.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain full knowledge of and adherence to the Hotel Management Agreement (HMA) in all decisions.
- Act as the primary liaison between hotel operations and ownership, providing transparent reporting on HMA obligations and operator performance.
- Develop, monitor and execute financial and operational plans aligned with strategic and ownership objectives.
- Prepare and manage the annual business plan, capital expenditure proposals and budget forecasts to maximise asset value and ROI.
- Oversee delivery of high‑quality guest services and timely handling of guest feedback.
- Uphold brand standards across service, product presentation and cleanliness.
- Implement preventative maintenance and asset protection programmes.
- Lead revenue‑generation initiatives, including marketing, sales and yield management to drive RevPAR and occupancy.
- Maximise non‑room revenue through effective space management and commercial planning.
- Collaborate with the Regional Corporate Office to ensure alignment with company‑wide goals.
- Maintain legal compliance and positive relationships with local authorities.
- Drive talent development, succession planning, training and performance management.
- Promote a culture of service excellence, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Represent the hotel within the local community and professional settings.
- Lead security, risk management and health, safety and environmental initiatives.
- Oversee HR compliance, payroll practices and colleague engagement.
Required profile
- Extensive experience in senior hotel management, preferably as a General Manager.
- Deep understanding of Hotel Management Agreements and ability to ensure strict compliance.
- Proven track record in developing and executing financial, operational and strategic plans.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to cultivate high‑performing teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management, acting as the bridge between ownership and operations.
- Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth and optimise asset value.
- Commitment to brand standards, guest satisfaction and regulatory compliance.
