General Manager of Oil and Gas Development Project

About the role

The General Manager will lead the overall planning, execution and commercial success of a large‑scale oil and gas development project in the United Arab Emirates. Reporting to senior leadership, the role is responsible for strategy, investment, production targets and stakeholder coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Define and adjust the project development strategy, technical routes and investment calculations in response to market, resource and policy changes.
• Participate in investment presentations, economic evaluations and major decisions, managing production, cost, cash‑flow and ROI targets.
• Coordinate drilling, completion, surface engineering, gathering, processing and facility construction while ensuring safety, quality and schedule compliance.
• Drive production optimisation, improve recovery rates, single‑well efficiency and overall operational performance through technology and digital solutions.
• Represent the project with partners, government bodies and local communities, handling contracts and major negotiations.
• Build and lead multidisciplinary teams, establish performance incentives, manage risks and capture project management best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Petroleum Engineering, Geological Engineering, Engineering Management or a related field.
• Minimum 15 years of oil and gas industry experience, including at least 5 years in senior management of large field or block development projects.
• Proven track record across the full project lifecycle from planning to production.
