Graduate HVAC Engineer

About the role

Technip Energies is looking for a Graduate HVAC Engineer to join its Engineering – Mechanical / HVAC team in Abu Dhabi, reporting to the Lead HVAC Engineer / HVAC Department Manager. The graduate supports the HVAC team in designing, analysing and developing heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems for oil & gas, industrial, commercial and infrastructure projects, working under the guidance of senior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the design of HVAC systems, including ventilation, air conditioning, pressurisation and smoke management.
• Prepare HVAC calculations such as cooling and heating loads, ventilation requirements and equipment sizing under supervision.
• Support engineering deliverables such as datasheets, specifications, schedules and reports.
• Help develop HVAC layouts, duct routing and equipment arrangements.
• Review vendor documents for compliance with project specifications and standards.
• Take part in design reviews and model review meetings, and coordinate with process, architectural, civil, structural, electrical and instrumentation teams.
• Support material requisitions, technical bid evaluations and procurement, and maintain engineering documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline; fresh graduate or up to 2 years of relevant experience.
• Basic understanding of HVAC design principles and engineering fundamentals.
• Knowledge of industrial, commercial or oil & gas HVAC systems is an advantage.
• Preferred: internship or academic project experience in HVAC design, and exposure to engineering consultancy, EPC or industrial projects.

Required skills

• Familiarity with HVAC design standards such as ASHRAE, SMACNA and international standards.
• Basic knowledge of heat load calculations and equipment sizing.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, BIM software or other HVAC design tools.
• Understanding of HVAC components such as chillers, AHUs, FCUs, ventilation fans and ducting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
