Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Mechanic

About the role

The Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing airport ground handling equipment and vehicles to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on light and heavy‑duty GSE, vehicles, and related equipment.
• Diagnose faults, disassemble components, repair or overhaul engines, gearboxes, steering and brake systems.
• Conduct final quality inspections and road tests before releasing equipment to service.
• Maintain tool kits, log work performed, materials used and service dates in the equipment register.
• Respond to emergency calls and provide on‑site fault diagnosis as required.
• Coordinate with other mechanics and follow shop and service manuals for all repairs.

Required profile

• Higher secondary education (12 years) plus at least two years of formal training or apprenticeship in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• Experience working with airport ground support equipment or similar heavy‑duty vehicles.
