GSE Technician

About the role

The GSE Technician is responsible for routine service and maintenance of Ground Service Equipment (GSE) at an airport environment. The role ensures that all maintenance work complies with company regulations and manufacturer recommendations, while keeping accurate maintenance history.

Key responsibilities

• Perform mechanical repair and maintenance on buses, trucks, GSE and diesel/electric/gas‑powered vehicles.
• Inspect, diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical faults.
• Carry out complete overhauls of engines, transmissions, differentials, clutch and braking systems.
• Repair and maintain electrical components such as starters, alternators, wiring, lighting and control systems.
• Maintain specialised GSE including GPU, ASU, ACU, hi‑loaders, electric tractors and forklifts.
• Operate diagnostic tools, welding equipment and machine tools (lathe, mill) for repair and fabrication.
• Install and service auxiliary systems like air‑conditioning, battery systems and PLC‑based control and monitoring equipment.
• Document repairs, parts usage and work orders in line with safety and operational standards.

Required profile

• Equivalent of two years full‑time experience in heavy equipment service and repair.
• Airport GSE experience is an advantage.
• UAE Light or Heavy Driving License preferred.
• Good communication skills in English; Arabic and Urdu are a plus.
