Head Nurse – Outpatient Department

About the role

The Head Nurse – OPD will lead the outpatient department at Sunny Medical Center Sharqan, ensuring safe, effective, and patient‑centred care. This senior nursing position reports to the Nursing Supervisor and may act as charge nurse when required.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care, prioritising needs and outcomes.
• Oversee daily clinical activities, coordinate staffing, and act as charge nurse as needed.
• Develop, revise and document care plans and maintain real‑time clinical records.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, represent nursing at rounds, and facilitate patient education.
• Perform essential life‑support procedures (BLS, PALS, ACLS, Neonatal Resuscitation) and act as a clinical resource for staff.
• Participate in developing standards, protocols and evidence‑based practice.
• Lead training, education and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse licence with the relevant UAE health authority.
• Proven experience managing nursing teams and influencing change.
• Strong decision‑making and communication skills in English (spoken and written).
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
