Head of Art – Immediate Start – Academic Year 2026

About the role

Aldar Education, the leading education group in Abu Dhabi, is seeking a Head of Art to lead its art programme across its schools. The role will inspire, engage and challenge students, creating a nurturing, play‑based learning environment and delivering high‑quality, inclusive art education.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the academy in achieving its overall vision and strategic targets as set out in the improvement plan.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, equal‑opportunity regulations and all academy policies.
• Participate in performance‑management processes, setting challenging annual targets and reviewing performance when directed by the Principal.
• Deliver annual training on child protection, safeguarding and health and safety, and attend all staff briefings.
• Teach allocated students by planning lessons that set clear objectives, challenging tasks and high expectations to achieve outstanding progression.
• Uphold academy dress code, wear photo ID, adhere to the computer Acceptable Use Policy and sign in/out at reception when off‑site.

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor degree with PGCE certification; at least 6 years teaching Art experience, preferably at UK secondary level.
• Strong experience teaching the English National Curriculum and working with students for whom English is not the first language.
• Knowledge of English curriculum developments and UAE Ministry of Education/ADEK regulations relating to curriculum, assessment and compliance.
• Leadership qualities including ability to prioritize projects, manage change, resolve conflict, motivate staff and foster collaboration.
